Young 16 year Old Gives Baby Up For Adoption.

I have recently talked to some women that are part of CafeMom that have just found out they are about to be mothers. I have been one of the first ones to congratulate them. It is a scary time for some, and also exciting as well.

Recently I even read a story about a 16 year old giving birth on Dec 21 and she gave her baby up for adoption. Her story is about how she has no support from her own parents and she know what was best now for her was to give up her child to a couple that lost 3 children already. The young girl got to meet the adopting partent's before they left with their new baby. Its a sad story it brought tears to my eyes as I read her words. I told her to make a journal out of her writting so if the adopted parents keep in contact maybe one day they will share this story with the child they will now be calling their own.

I wish I could of copied it and let you all read it but I did not have her permission. So I can only tell you her gift of life and unselfishness is so wonderful that most women can not do. Her words are so loving as she tells her love for her baby. Yet she agonized over giving her baby to another coupled and in the end she hands over her son.

She has returned home and is expected to act like a child again, go to school and act like this never happened. Yes in her heart and her sole she knows this is impossible. How can she be the same young girl as she once was? My heart goes out to her and my arms wish they could of wrapped around her and told her it would be ok some day. If I get her ok I will copy her story here for all to read. Its heart felt touching and just makes you think.

The Rocker

When I was young I did not have a Rocker when I had my baby we were living with my In-Laws. I did not have a nursery as he shared our room with us. I was 19 when I gave birth and I was marred. It was hard starting out like so many other couples that have a family so young. Money was tight and we needed a hand from our parents. My parents still had children at home so we lived with my In-Laws.

I had always wanted a nursery for my baby. We shared a room with a bed our dresser and a crib when we started out. I did not actually have a nursery until I had my daughter TerryLynn. I had always wanted a Rocker and in this nursery I had one for my daughter. It was old all wood and was given to me. It was one of the best gifts I have ever gotten.

We used the rocker all the time, I would rock Terrylynn to sleep at night as my son played at my feet. My husband was a firefighter and worked shift work. So I raised our babies alone it seems as he was working 14 and 16 hour shifts. It was very hard at times but we did it. She is 27 now with her own little one Erica and we still have the rocker. Now we share it with Erica for story time she is now 4 and loves to have someone read to her. Grandmom thats me gets to even have stories read to me as Erica is now learning how to read in preschool. An I get to sit on the floor while Erica sits in the rocker and reads to me. Its so cute. I have wonderful memories of the times I used to rock my babies in that rocker. My son now 30 and my daughter 27 still sit in the rocker at time.

My Rocker was one of the best gifts I ever got. Purchase a rocker and please tell me how much you love it. Holding your baby so close and rocking them is so wonderful.

PRIMO Infant Bath Seat (White)

3 1/2 years old, and we still use this tub! She's tall with long legs, but she still fits and loves her Primo. I'll be so sad when she finally outgrows it.

Ericka loves her new tub - she has SO much room to play now! She is a big girl at almost 8 months old - weighs over 17 lbs and over 27" long. Her legs were too long for the other infant tubs and she was squished on the sides!

No sliding around, just lots of fun!

Daddy loves giving the twins (9 months) a bath together!! This tub really is big!

The Kehoe Make A Baby Using Gestational Surrogacy

The Kehoe Amy and her husband Scott are unable to have their own baby. So Amy decided to find someone that would be able to carry one for them. Amy picked egg doner from the University of Michigan. She then chose a anonymous sperm doner, which was athletic and had a 4.0 in high school.
Amy and Scott then set out to find a Gestational Carrier who would deliver their baby, they then hired a fertility clinic right in Michigan, The clinic put together her creation last December.

The Kehoes paid for the eggs and the sperm as well as the in vitro fertilization procedure.

At the end of July the Kehoes announced the birth of Ethan and Bridget, TWINS. The Twins Ethan and Bridget were brought home to the Kehoes home in August.

This story turns sad as the twins are now with the surrogate who gave them birth after obtaining a court order to retrieve the twins after learning that Mrs Kehoe had been treated for mental illness. Ms Baker stated she couldnt see living the rest of my life worrying and wondering what had happened, or what if she hadn't taken her medicine, or what if she relapsed."

750 Babies are born each year through gestational surrogacy in the USA with the numbers climbing.

H1N1 Recall Alert For Parents of Small Children

Have you heard, H1N1 vaccines for children under 3 years of age is being recalled. The company that makes the H1N1 swine flue vaccine, Sanofi Pasteur for Sanofi-Aventis SA makers of the vaccine has recalled four lots of the vaccine. The company has recalled the N1H1 Vaccine due to it is not potent enough.

Reports had come out saying there is no safety concern for children that has already been Vaccinated with the shot. The affected vaccine is prefilled syringes and children that have been already vaccinated will not need to be revaccinated at this time.

Parents that waited in long lines trying to get their children the shot only to be turned away later due to the clinics running out are wondering should we still get our children the vaccine.

New Caculator For Your Due Date

With only 5% of all babies being born on their due date we've seen to many mothers shocked to of gone into labor two weeks early. An for the mothers that have agonized over being late just because of what doctors call a due date. With the new Due Date Calculator it gives you a range of dates instead of a single date. This is making it easier on the new parents as full term means between 38 and 42 weeks. http://mothersnaturally.org/naturalPregnancy/dueDateCalculator.php I recently learned of this due date Calculator from searching the net. On The new mom blog, here is her post:what is your due date(s)?

This definitely falls under the category of "wish I'd thought of it." It's a DUE DATE CALCULATOR that gives you a "safe range" for a term birth instead of pinpointing just one day. I typed in my LMP and discovered that my range is between Dec 2 and Jan 6th, not the precise December 25th every other calculator has produced. I'd much prefer to say to people I'm due "in December" than "December 25th". (For one thing there would be fewer jokes about what's in Santa's bag.) Only 5% of babies are born on the so-called due date. Full term can mean anything between 38 and 42 weeks, and it's time the calculators started to reflect that reality. We've seen too many mothers shocked to go into labor two weeks "too soon" or agonizing over being "late." So thank you Mothersnaturally.org for making normal pregnancies seem more normal!

I learned about this website from Jennifer Block's Pushedbirth.com. Blocks' book, Pushed, was one of my favorite reads of the summer. She does an incredible job explaining how and why maternity care in the US is such a huge mess. It's actually a page-turner, which is pretty amazing for a book in which every other line has a footnote. Rebecca and I were happy to have met Jennifer in person last Friday night when we all appeared on the Joey Reynolds overnight radio show. It aired at 3 AM. Lucky for us it was taped.

Safe and sound twins5
If you are having twins ths is a must. Perfect spacing and not too deep so it saves your back. The netting around the sides gives added comfort because faces cannot accidently get pressed up against the side.Firm but enough padding to be comfortable. I'd like 2 one upstairs and one down.
